Here are a few important Travel Safety Tips for families to consider when planning your next trip
1) Teach your children to know and use your first & last name in a public place. If they become separated from you, they can tell authorities their Mommy's and Daddy's names which will help them locate you faster.
2) Keep a current photo of your children in your diaper bag or wallet. The photo can be copied quickly and posted with security at all exits. If you don't have a photo with you use a digital camera or cell phone camera and take a photo of your children the day of your trip or outing.
3) If you're traveling with toddlers and school-age children, make them "travel buddies" so they keep an eye on each other. Offer prizes along the way to motivate them to "stay together."
4) Team Colors! Dress them in the same colored clothes so you can easily find them in a crowd. For example you only have to look for Red shirts and jeans rather than 2-3 different outfits.
5) Don't be afraid to use a safety harness on small wandering children. It's better to be safe than sorry. There are some cute new harnesses backpacks and fanny packs so your child won't even know she's wearing a harness.
6) Keep your children busy on your next trip. A bored child is a mischievous child. Whether it's a road or airplane trip bring along fun new toys and activities to keep them entertained. If you're bringing a portable DVD player, be sure to bring the charger with you to the airport so you can charge during layovers
